I am now officially a Board Certified General Surgeon!!! For those who didn't know, I flew to Dallas on Sunday morning to take my boards on Monday morning at 7:00 am (that's 5 am Vegas time). Basically we all got a "briefing," and then preceded to our exams. I was in the first group, so my 3 rooms were at 8, 8:30, and 9:00. I got up early, had a very expensive breakfast consisting of hot tea, a bagel, and juice (the hotel's restaurants were just as high as room service and I didn't want to risk spilling something on my suit), and went for my exam. Each room had 2 surgeons and lasted 30 minutes. I got through 4 scenarios in each room, which is a little more than average. (I dont' putz around...) I somehow survived things and found out this morning that I passed! I'm now certified for the next 10 years! Thanks to those who sent prayers and encouragement along my way!!!

Dinner and "Oh La La"

Adam posing at the theater direction sign after the show.We should've had THIS cake topper... (not really)! Funny it's in front of a baby carriage!
Me, Sandi, and Bill at the Sorbet cafe.
Adam, Sandi, and Bill at the same.

Last night, we were invited to dinner with some friend here in Las Vegas. We went to Jerry's Nugget, a small casino with a great little "diner-style" restaurant. We dined on lobster, a small steak, salad, and potato for $12. The dessert was huge for $4.50! After an enjoyable meal with Sandi and her friend Bill (who looks like Andy Rooney), we went to the Paris resort to see Oh La La. This show was a "free" treat for Adam and I (thanks to Sandi) and was basically a topless review. Overall, it was weak in talent, but Adam really enjoyed it! Here are some pics of our night out...

Nothing Too Exciting...

Adam starting his sundae... Too busy eating to smile... Me with my Bannana Split.
Abbey tired of working...

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I last posted on the blog. The main reason for this is quite simple...we don't have much to talk about. Work has been very busy and hopefully my other 2 new jobs will be starting soon. We are basically too poor to go anywhere or do anything fun. So, we sit around the house way more than usual. I play my 2 new computer games and Adam watches TV. Last night, we went down to the Strip for a little while after dinner. We both wanted icecream (which we haven't had anything good in a long time), so we went to Ghiardellis. It took us a few minutes to find it, but it was well worth the effort. Here are some pics of us having icecream. Also, here's how we found Abbey the other day...She had been working very hard!

Happy New Year!!!

My "Bobbie" Sandwich

We just got home from a nice weekend off of work. Saturday we lounged around the house and then went out for dinner at the Rio buffet. It was a little expensive ($24 pp) but worth the price. The buffet had cooked to order Chinese noodles and Japanese tempanyaki. It also had lots of seafood options (4 kinds of shrimp, calamari rings, fried scallops, crab legs, and crab claws), carved meats (polish sausage, prime rib, turkey, and ham), and tons of veggies. While I didn't partake, they also had a Mexican station, pizza station, salad bar, and a huge dessert selection. So after gaining a few pounds,we went home and watched "Next." It was pretty good, but I didn't like the ending. Today we went to our favorite sub shop, Capriottis, for some subs and followed them up with cupcakes from Mad Hatters. Here are pics of the mountains near our house (from our driveway) which are now snow-kissed, Adam with his cheesesteak, and my "Bobbie" sandwich. (The "Bobbie" has mayo, turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce.) Enjoy...
