I'm Done!!!

Jessica and I.Cameron and I in the OR.
Leah, myself, and April.
Isaac and I.

Well, I finished my fellowship on a high note today! I finished strong, finished a great research paper (if I do say so myself), and really enjoyed my last day! It has been a long 14 years since leaving home, but very worth it to be where I am today. Adam, my family, and my friends have been wonderful and I cannot thank all of you enough. Without the support, encouragement, and love, I definitely couldn't be sitting where I am today! Here are some photos of my last day at the Smith Plastic Surgery Institute...

My New Office

Since it's now official, I thought I'd share pictures of our new office. Currently, it's an empty shell. Hopefully the architect's drawings will be done next week and building will start shortly afterwards. If things go as planned, we should be moving into the new office by November 15. Here is a photo...

Working away...

Isaac (our wonderful surgical tech) and I setting things up...Dr. Smith and I working away...

Since I don't do anything but work all of the time, I thought I'd show some photos of me working. Today is rhinoplasty day... We are still trying to find a home that we like AND can afford in Maryville, while working like dogs!

Sorry, but This is All I've Got....

Since my family's visist, I have gone back to working 7 days a week. Unfortunately, this just doesn't leave much time for adventures and nice pictures. However, there are plenty of things going on in our lives right now.

Adam's company here in Las Vegas just got bought out by another company last week. Thankfully, Adam got to keep his job and same salary which is a real blessing for us! He's now looking into employment in Tennessee, though we are pretty certain hat he won't actually get a job until he's physically living there. (It was the same here in Las Vegas.)

I have quite a bit going on myself. I work at my fellowship Monday through Thursdays (and some Fridays)), then go to the Urgent Care on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm working on setting up my practice in Tennessee, which the build-out will hopefully be starting soon.

As for us, Mom and Dad are looking at a couple of homes in Tennessee today. One in particular looks promising, so we'll wait and hear about the other. We'll likely purchase a home having never seen it, but I can guarentee that my parents have good tastes and that anything will beat an apartment!

I'll try go get some pics up as soon as we take some!

Zion National Park

The Dampiers...Adam and I in the park.
Mom and Dad.
Grandaddy and I at the Virgin River.

Today, we went to Zion National Park in Utah. It took almost 3 hours to get there, but it was truly worth the trip. The scenery is really unique and beautiful. We rode the shuttle busses around the park and got off to make a few short "hikes." We then said "goodbye" to Dad, Mom, Grandmother, and Grandaddy who were heading north towards Salt Lake City. Over the 4 day visit, we saw lots of amazing scenery and Mom and Dad have now caught our "hiking bug." Here are a few photos of the day...

Mt. Charleston Hiking...

Adam and I at the Base... Dad and I About to Climb this Peak...
The three of us at the waterfalls...

Yesterday, we went to Mt. Charleston for some hiking and cooler weather. From the Vegas valley up to the mountain, there was a 30 degree temperature change! We hiked and enjoyed the natural beauty. Adam, Dad, and I killed ourselves to reach the summit of Cathedral Rock. The views were spectacular, though the hike was brutal! Mom and Grandaddy made it up the mountain quite a way, but not quite as high as us. Grandmother enjoyed the scenery from a comfortable seat in the picnic area. Here are some photos...

Red Rock with the Family

Today, Mom, Dad, Grandmother, Grandaddy and I ventured up to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This is one of the few places I'm going to miss once we leave Las Vegas as the hikes are great and beautiful in a "dry," "sweltering," desert kind of way. We had a good time and Dad and I actually made it all the way up to La Madre Spring. The hike was brutal, but well worth the sense of accomplishment in the end. Here are some family photos....
