Not Very Bright....

Adam at the top of the peak in his old Las Vegas T-Shirt... Me at a big boulder...

We hiked all the way down into this valley and back out! (Basically we went around the big rocky mountain to the left of the photo...) Vegas through the mountains and trees...

Well...Adam and I set out today with the intent of hiking 4.4 miles through an easy-moderate trail (with only a 200 ft elevation change). We got confused and ended up on the wrong trail! We thought it seemed like way more than 200 ft of climbing up and down, but we figured we were just tired and out of shape. After we had hiked to the end of the trail (an intersection to the springs we had already hiked to), we headed back. Upon getting to the parking lot, we realized we had done the upper half of the difficult trail... Total hike was 6 miles with 870 ft of elevation changes! Both of us are exhaused and will likely be quite sore tomorrow! Here are a few pictures that really don't give justice to the scenery we encountered...

(Can you even see it back there?)

(Its Building is Bigger than the Castle!)

(Kind of Small Isn't It?)

Adam on the Nemo Submarine...

Cinda and her Frozen Bannana...
(Half of which ended up on her white T-shirt...)

Nighttime at Disneyland...

Since I hope to be moonlighting next weekend and because we haven't left Vegas since we got here 6 weeks ago, we decided to get out of town. So, we went to Disneyland. This was Adam's first trip to California and both of our first times at Disneyland. We left Friday afternoon and arrived at the Anaheim Hilton (which is the worst Hilton ever) early that evening. We pretty much watched TV and went to bed early. Saturday, we headed out to Disneyland. Wow...it's truly the red-headed-step-child of Disney world in Orlando! The castle is tiny, and the character buffet was a disorganized zoo with nothing special in the food categories. We enjoyed the Nemo subs (the newest and most technologically advanced rides ever in Disney history) and the Indiana Jones ride. Otherwise, the rides were nothing notable. We then watched the fireworks and Fantasmic show. I liked the Fantasmic show better here (because it used real paddle wheel boats and a big pirate ship), but there was no seating and we were packed in like sardines trying to see around tall, rude Californians who couldn't stand still. Today, we headed back. We saw the World's Largest Thermometer (wow...) and took a pictures of the California fires that are being talked about on CNN. Overall, it was a nice weekend with some new experiences. Here are some pictures...

I Did It!!!

Mommy doing all the work....
Taking a water break and resting...Daddy Mastered the Trail!

At the Spring...
Fonzie and I Hanging Out While Daddy Explored the Undeveloped Trail...
Adam Posing At the "Spikey" MountainOne of the Beautiful Views Coming Down...

Today, we decided to be a little adventurous (and I'm trying to lose weight faster than the 2.2 lbs per week I've been losing since we got here) and went for our first real hike at Red Rock. We chose the Madre Spring hike, which sounded good (chance of seeing animals at the watering hole...even bighorn sheep). The hike is 3.3 miles with a 400 ft incline. And to add more of a challenge, it was 96 degrees when we set out. Fonzie probably walked about 1.25 miles of it and got carried the rest of the way. (Just what I needed, 12 extra pounds to get up these hills...) Despite the fact that I almost quit several times while Adam strolled up the hills with ease, I made it. The spring was small and nice for cooling off, and the views were spectacular! Here are some pictures of our adventure. (And yes, it is 8 pm on Saturday night and we are both exhausted. No wild trip to the strip tonight...)

More Good News!

As of today, I am officially licensed to practice medicine in Nevada! I should have my DEA number soon and then I'll be back in business (able to see pts independently, able to write prescriptions, and most important....able to make some extra money)! Anyway, Adam's new job is good and I LOVE the things I'm learning to do! So, all is well...

A Really Great Night!

Well, we just got in from a great afternoon and evening out! This morning, we tried to get tickets to a certain show, but we couldn't sit together. So, we looked into other options and decided on Spamalot (a musical that plays in Vegas, New York, and London) featuring John O'Hurley (as seen on Dancing with the Stars and Seinfield) and based on the Monte Python movies. Because we have Nevada licenses, we were eligible for the buy-one-get-one-free promotion, which saved us $108. So, we were pleased with that and decided to have dinner at the Wynn buffet (the same hotel with the show we were going to see). When we picked up our tickets at the box office, we were told to go to a counter where we could get a "players card" with a $25 slot credit. With plenty of time to waste before dinner, we put a $1 bill into a slot machine (you had to put something first to get to use the credit) and won $226 on the second spin!!! We cashed this out and used up our $25 worth of free play. The dinner was spectacular and the show was hilarious with true Broadway-quality talent! We are now home and getting ready for bed. Overall it was a great night! Here are some pics... (For those who know the movies, you can see than Adam is being attacked by the "ferocious beast...")
