Today, we decided to be a little adventurous (and I'm trying to lose weight faster than the 2.2 lbs per week I've been losing since we got here) and went for our first real hike at Red Rock. We chose the Madre Spring hike, which sounded good (chance of seeing animals at the watering hole...even bighorn sheep). The hike is 3.3 miles with a 400 ft incline. And to add more of a challenge, it was 96 degrees when we set out. Fonzie probably walked about 1.25 miles of it and got carried the rest of the way. (Just what I needed, 12 extra pounds to get up these hills...) Despite the fact that I almost quit several times while Adam strolled up the hills with ease, I made it. The spring was small and nice for cooling off, and the views were spectacular! Here are some pictures of our adventure. (And yes, it is 8 pm on Saturday night and we are both exhausted. No wild trip to the strip tonight...)

Hey Cinda and Adam,
Back when I was with the Lewis and Clark Expedition I coud hike the high and low country for weeks with ease. We did not have all the nicities that you kids enjoy today. Ie. Dogs, store bought water, GPS, digital cameras, and peanut butter snacks.
We were tough back then. But what the hell!
Dad
Hey Cinda and Adam
I love the views. I do enjoy seeing the pictures, since I can't see you for real. I hope we can hike some when we come. Just find the bighorn sheep for me. Love you both, Mom
Fonzie just doesn't appear to be doing well in Las Vegas. He still looks pitiful. I'm sure he'll be glad to return to the east coast. We'll all be glad when yall can return!
